Earthday event intro

In celebration of Earth Day Tokyo 2013, the event provided children affected by the 2011 nuclear disaster a safe place to play and learn about the environment.

Many of the children come from areas where contamination limits outdoor play opportunities.

Founded in 2011 after the tsunami and earthquake, FNPCR is a group of mothers and fathers who were on the ground straight after the disaster advising families on how to evacuate safely.

They continue to work in Fukushima assessing and tracking radiation soil damage caused by the meltdown, and present their findings at community conferences.
